-----
Maiden of the Golden Hall,
That which I am
Long has my land lain in wait,
For its freedom.
Lightning of evil strikes the ground,
The black worm is watching,
I look to a darker place,
Where he cannot see.
I am a prisoner
In a cage of chaos,
I weep and I wither,
In the confines of shadow.
Then you appear,
A ranger of order,
You take away my darkness,
See the winter within me.
Maiden of the Golden Hall,
My face pale as the lily.
I stand high and fearless,
Of all that I see.
I will lead them on into
The whispering mountains.
Of Steel-Sheen and cold as night,
A daughter of kings.
(Instrumental)
Maiden of the Golden Hall,
I look out yonder,
The smoke-filled hills on the distance call,
Rings of light pass through the sky.
My sword-blade glints on the eastern rise,
You sweep beside me.
You take the chalice from my hands,
The twilight in your eyes.
I know one day
That the forests will sing out
In bliss of serenity,
And I will be your queen.
I love you,
But there is another,
Who stands now in the place
I revered at your side.
Maiden of the Golden Hall,
I am not what you seek,
You say I love an illusion,
And turn away from me.
Now I desire nothing,
I ride unto battle;
I care not to lose the days--
Nor the light of my time.
